Ginkgo biloba ‘Yellow Mellow’  (which means ‘Mature yellow’) occurred as a variegated sport on Ginkgo biloba ‘Tremonia’ in the Netherlands and was introduced to the trade shortly after.


Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Yellow Mellow’ has striking golden yellow variegation. Some leaves have yellow streaks, others are segmented occasionally it produces all yellow leaves (but these shoots tend to scorch, wither and die). This cultivar grows upright, producing short side growths. The rate of growth rarely exceeds 15 cm a year. 1n 10 years it will attain a height of 1.5 m to 2 m. It grows better in dappled light.
