Ginkgo biloba ‘Sotaju’ is male .  Unfortunatley there is no information available in respect of the origins of  this cultivar.
 
Description –  Ginkgo biloba ‘Sotaju’ exhibits leaves larger than the species. The annual growth rate is approximately 25 cm – 30 cm. It seems to be fairly strong growing and  the one in The National Collection of Ginkgo biloba & Cultivars has reached 2 m in three year growing in a container (under nursery conditions). It is suggested that this cultivar will produce and open branched tree approximately 6 m high with a spread of possibly 4 m.
