Ginkgo biloba ‘Simon’ this cultivar originates from the Netherlands and was introduced in 1997 The person responsible for its discovery and introduction is not confirmed, but is belived to be David Bomer. The plant we have in The Collection of Ginkgo biloba & Cultivars was obtained from Baumschule Pflanzenvielfalt GmbH, Westersteder Str. 57, 26340 Zetel, Germany.

 

Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Simon’ has attractive foliage, the leaves are split more than once, semi-circular, 8 – 10 cm wide and close together on the stem.  It grows 30 cm to 45 cm a year, the growth is dense. It forms an uneven shrub approximately 1.5 m high with a spread of 1m in 10 years. Sources suggest that is will eventually reach a hight of 6 m
