Ginkgo biloba ‘San Jose’ originates from the United States of America. It is a male form , which flowers at an early age when compared with other cultivars. It was introduced by J Clarke Nurseries San Jose, California in the United States of America in 1969.

 

Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘San Jose’ has leaves that are rounded, some of which have a slight dentation, but are not bilobed. The rate of growth is 40 cm per annum. This cultivar has a conical shape. It should reach a height of 4.5 m in 10 years. In time it will become a large tree with a broad crown 20 m or more.  The autumn colour is very good.
