Ginkgo biloba 'McFarland' is a female cultivar originating from North America or Canada which was originally selected for its fruiting abilities as it is said to crop prolifically. If anybody can provide definitive information, we would be pleased to know.
Description – The foliage is somewhat variable, some leaves bilobed, others not. The annual growth rate is 40 cm, therefore in 10 years it is reasonable to suggest that it will have attained a height of 4 m with a spread of 3 m. We are unable to provide precise details of expected height and spread, but we suspect it will be similar to the species and eventually make a large tree up to 20 m with a spread of 8 m.
