This Dutch cultivar was discovered as a sport on Ginkgo biloba ‘Troll’ in the garden of the Nurseryman Herman Geers at Laag Boskoop 104, 2771 GZ Boskoop, Netherlands. Herman Geers said: “We have been following this plant for several years and it really seems to be a long-lasting form. The original plant is 25 cm high and 8 years old. We named the plant Kathinka after a friend of ours. This is an ideal dwarf ginkgo for inclusion on a rock garden or for growing in a container where space is very limited.
