Ginkgo biloba 'Horizontalis Nana' is believed to have originated in the U.S.A. and was introduced by the Bucholz Nursery in 1957. Another good tree for the small garden and despite its eventual size 'Horizontalis Nana' can also be grown in a container to good effect, which will slow down its development and reduce its eventual size by fifty percent.

 

DescriptionGinkgo biloba ‘Horizontalis Nana’ is male. It  has foliage that is typical to the species, light green in colour. The rate of growth is 20cm a year. It is truly dwarf in its nature and may reach only a height of 1.5m with a spread of 2m - 2.5m in 10 - 15 years. It produces good autumn colour.
