Ginkgo biloba 'Golden Girl' is considered to have originated in the U.S.A., but this cannot be substantiated as there is little information. Many think that the name indicates that this is a variegated cultivar. That is certainly not the case.
Description - Ginkgo biloba 'Golden Girl' is female and has been named for its exceptional golden autumn colour. The foliage is typical of the species and annual growth rate of 30cm is normal. It develops a strong upright leader and has an upright growing habit. Expect a height of approximately 20 m when mature with a spread of about 8 m. This is an excellent tree for both fruit production and its autumn colour, which is bright yellow.
