Ginkgo biloba ‘DJ’s Bow Tie’ originates from the United States of America, the precise origins of this unusual cultivar are not known. Its discovery has been attributed to Buchholz and Buchholz Nursery 41840 SW Vandehey Rd, Gaston, OR 97119, United States (Circa 2009), but this cannot be substantiated.

Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘DJ’s Bow Tie’. The reason that this cultivar got its name is obvious when you look at an image of the foliage. What makes it different from other ‘tube like’ cultivars is that it has an upright habit and is quite narrow. The lateral branches are curved. The leaves are variable, whilst some are broadly divided, they do not exhibit the characteristic for which this plant was named. Other leaves are evenly divided and look like a ‘bow tie’.
