This selection comes from material taken from one of two Ginkgo trees which were planted around 1780 in front of the Caste of Count Janković in the Eastern Croatian town of Daruvar, certainly some of the oldest in Europe. One is male, the other is female, both originally from China.

The male specimen has a trunk volume of over seven meters and is called Adam by the local population. Adam is known as the ‘In love Ginkgo’. Unlike the male specimen, by contrast the female specimen is tall and slim and is called Eva.

Adam is large tree with a wide spreading branch structure. Height approximately 20m, spread 15m. The leaves are deep green, each with a very deep incision and a slightly sawtooth-like outer edge.
